From the kids’ book series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey, we present a story from the most soft-hearted bubble you would ever have the pleasure of meeting: Lumy!
Hi guys!
It’s me, Lumy! If you read Episode 1 from the series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey, I guess you would’ve read about me and my best friend, M.E. We went on an amazing journey around the world (even into space) and met some awesome friends. You can read all about our wonderful journey by clicking here. Ever since our story got published, all my friends and I have gotten so many requests to tell you more about us!
So here it is:
My name is Luminous, but please call me Lumy. I was born to two especially soapy & sudsy parent bubbles, from the Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey, on a night when the full moon shone closest to the Earth. It was a magical night, my mama tells me; as the night was quiet, the sky was clear, the moon & stars twinkled and shone brightly on me. My mama was so happy to see me gleaming so luminously even at night that she decided to name me, Luminous.
When I was young, I loved making new bubble friends and I made lots of new friends in the orange and ginger shampoo jar. But every Saturday morning, when Momma Isabelle washed Amelia’s hair, she left the shampoo jar open and a strange thing would happen. A bubble, just as big as I was, would float up from the bottom and watch the world through the kitchen window from the rim of the shampoo jar.
No bubble dared to rise to the top of the shampoo jar on Saturday, because everybody was afraid that they would be scooped up to wash Amelia’s hair and then rinsed down the drain or worse pop poof disappear!
But that bubble was so courageous! I decided to be friends with him immediately!
So, the next Saturday when he rose to the top while Momma Isabelle washed Amelia’s hair, I floated up to meet him… and well, the rest is history! As you would have probably guessed: that courageous bubble was M.E, my best friend. His name is Magellan Estefan, all his friends including me call him M.E. for short.
After our first meeting, we got together every Saturday at the rim of the shampoo jar. M.E. would tell me all about the wonderful things that we could see, the amazing kinds of people we could meet and the friendships we could have out in the big world!
I am so glad to be friends with M.E. He is a brave and smart bubble and he teaches me so many new things!
Now, I realize that if I had been scared like all the other bubbles to rise to the top of the jar with M.E., I would never had the chance to travel the world and meet a really special best friend… you can learn more about that in Episode 5 of the series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey.
