The Most Charming Chrysanthemum: Lonna! -From the children book series: The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey

From the children’s book series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey, here is Lonna writing to tell you all about her life in the field of Wildflowers.

Hey Y’all!

Hope y’all are doing good in this fine summer weather. When Lumy told me that our story would be getting published in the series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey, I was so surprised! A little chrysanthemum from a field of wildflowers was going to be famous!

I am so happy that you all loved reading about me in Episode 5 of the series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo: A Bubble’s Journey. It was the first time I met Lumy and my life changed completely!

When I was a much younger flower, I was too shy to talk to the bees, ants and even the other flowers. Nobody knew me so nobody wanted to be friends with the new quiet Chrysanthemum. But one summer day, an ant with a personality larger than life came to me and demanded I  give him a lift to where he could see the sun!

I thought he was SO rude!

When I told him to mind his manners, he introduced himself as Artemus.  He is a really shiny beautiful black ant.  To me he is a giant. Of course, Artemus apologized for his bossy behavior and proceeded to give me the scoop.  He explained how he and his colony lived just beyond the babbling brook in a hollowed tree trunk and how he loved exploring and protecting the field with a few thousand of his ant friends.

When I asked if he wanted to be friends with me, he replied with a laugh, ‘Who wouldn’t want to be friends with a beautiful chrysanthemum?’

That was when I realized I was finally starting to bloom!! I could see a little pink and white of my petals starting to peek through the green stem.

I was going to be a beautiful Chrysanthemum!

As my petals started to grow, more creatures from the field of wildflowers began complimenting me and as I began talking to more flowers, bees, ants and birds, I realized little by little that I wasn’t shy anymore!

Artemus, with his little compliment, had made me so much more confident in myself!

Little kind acts go a long way therefore we should always try our best to be a positive presence in our friends’ lives. By complimenting them, helping them do a hard task and sharing our things with them we can always let our friends know that we love them and care for them.

If you would like to learn more about my friend Artemus’ courage and our friendship… you can learn more about that in Episode 8 of the series The Orange and Ginger Soapy Shampoo.

Remember to always be kind!

Ciao,

Lonna

Girly this post hits home. I too was a teacher and when I moved to Washington and I had to choose another grade level to teach because of licensing issues with the state and it turned out to be a nightmare. It took every piece of me and therefore I decided to let it go and find another role. Now here I al taking it day by day until I find a job that I can go to happily. Congratulations! I wish you the best! Phillis Trip Apul
